"Galkadawala" est au coeur d’un ancien village agricole, situé au centre du Triangle Culturel à 10,5 km d’Habarana. Au fil des ans s’y est développé une grande biodiversité, à la végétation très riche et très dense, les cours d’eau transformant le paysage aride en un damier verdoyant.

Se trouvant à proximité des principaux sites culturels / historiques et des parcs naturels, de nombreux circuits sont organisés en jeep et motos avec l’aide de la communauté locale.

Les principaux sites sont à environ :-

Treking et Randonnées.
La bio-diversité offre la possibilité de faire de nombreuses randonnées. La région regorge de créatures de tous types. On trouve à Galkadawala 133 des 453 espèces d’oiseaux et 50 des 230 espèces de papillons présents au Sri Lanka. Les nombreux canaux d’irrigations, le lac où le lodge est situé, les routes qui mènent au village et les sentiers sont autant de “veines” le long desquelles vous pourrez vous promener à loisir en profitant de l’habitat naturel de nombreuses espèces qui interagissent les unes avec les autres.

Dans un tel environnement, manger devient un plaisir tout particulier et inoubliable. Votre journée s’achèvera à la lumière des torches, où goûter aux plats préparés avec les ingredients des jardins avoisinants vous permettra de clore une journée bien remplie. En plus d’apprécier la cuisine, les invités pourront s’essayer à préparer les plats de leur choix.
